Our commitment
practitionermap.com is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities and to users of all devices and browsers.
Technical measures
To support accessibility, practitionermap.com implements the following:
- Skip-to-content link on every page, visible on keyboard focus
- Semantic HTML5 landmarks (header, main, nav, footer, article, section) on every page
- Color contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.1 AA minimums: 4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text. The gold accent color is used decoratively only and never carries meaning as text or as the sole information signal.
- Visible focus indicators: 2px ink-colored outline with 3px offset on every interactive element
- Touch targets of 48px minimum on all interactive elements
- Form labels positioned above inputs; placeholder text is not used as a label substitute
- Error states identified by text message and visual ring, not by color alone
- All images include descriptive alt text; decorative images are marked aria-hidden
- Body text minimum 16px; line height minimum 1.6 on body copy
- No content that flashes more than three times per second
Known limitations
- The static area locator map on citation pages is a decorative reference image (aria-hidden). It does not provide interactive functionality and is supplemented by the full text address in the practitioner’s contact information.
We are committed to resolving known issues. If you encounter a barrier not listed here, please contact us.
Browser and assistive technology support
practitionermap.com is designed to be compatible with recent versions of major browsers and assistive technologies including screen readers. We test with keyboard navigation and browser accessibility tools.
Feedback and contact
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of practitionermap.com. If you experience any barriers to access, or if you need content in an alternative format, please contact us. We aim to respond within two business days.
